I know what you’re thinking… never is this girls first adventure one of the most anticipated events of the year. Why yes… yes it was . This year, the Super Bowl was being hosted by my favorite city in the entire world — my hometown – Houston, Texas! So, obviously I couldn’t miss this.
But before I get into the fun part of the weekend let me tell y’all how I almost blocked a blessing. So, it all started when my little brother called me two weeks ago and asked did I want to come home for the Super Bowl. He said all I had to do was say the word and the flight was taken care of. So of course, without hesitation or even looking at my schedule, I screamed DUH!
Two weeks passed and I’m not sure what happened you guys, but one day I woke up and decided not to go. I figured it would be too many people and It probably would be best to just stay in Columbia and catch up on some work. So, on Monday I called my little brother and I told him to cancel my flight. Of course he was appalled but just gave me the disappointed “okayyyy fal” face.
Fast forward to Friday, I’m on my way home from class and my little brother calls me and says, “Imma give you one more chance… if you can get to St.Louis by 6pm I have a seat reserved for you on the last flight to Houston. Don’t sleep Falyn, you need to be here!”
I sat back and weighed out my options for about an hour. Do I sit in Columbia and be bored while my friends are enjoying themselves? Or do I take this opportunity to
1) Go home
2) Go to super bowl events
3) See my family/friends & the celebs I call my friends and family lol.
After a lot of deliberating, I figured I just couldn’t skip out on this FREE once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean… when is the next time the Super Bowl would be in my hometown? So, I quickly packed a bag and found my way to the STL airport.
Once I landed in Houston and saw Gucci Mane and his fiancee Keisha Koir coming off the plane at the same time as me, I knew this was the best decision I made so far in 2017. (Haha I mean I haven’t really made that many decisions in the last 30 days but y’all get the point).
From then on the weekend went UP. Likeeeee “LIT” isn’t even the word to use. It seemed like everywhere my friends and I went someone was giving us something FREE. And let’s be honest… we ALL love free stuff.
From getting into clubs free (mind you they were taxing everywhere $100+ every night) to free food and free Super Bowl events tickets. This weekend was just everything I could have asked for and more.
My mom surprised my friends and I with tickets to Mike Vick’s Official Day Party. YES you read it correctly… little Fally P was in the building with THE FOOTBALL GOAT himself MICHAEL VICK.
Now, because nothing can go perfect all the time of course we had a slip up. We went to the wrong location at first. Y’all I was PISSED. By the time we figured it out it was only 1 hour left until the party was over, but instead of sulking or just saying forget it.. my friends and I pulled it together and got to the right location.
Truly, it was like God wanted me to be in Houston because right when we walked in my friends and I were able to meet Mike Vick and his team. They were all so nice and even invited us to come hang out with them at the other parties he was hosting that night.
So between meeting new friends, NFL legends, and the FREE good eats…. this weekend was truly a movie that I will never stop replaying. Weekends like this make me eager for my future as a media personality!
Until the next adventure w/ Fally P... See you soon pals!
